  • This is a very unusual piece of Judaica made by the Bezalel School, as this is a rosewater sprinkler, which is only used by Sephardic Jews, thus eliminating the vast majority of the customer base of Bezalel, they being Ashkenazi (European), Jews. The elongated top section has bands of silver filigree wire, which quite cleverly, includes small cast mountings of the emblem for the Biblical Tribe of Benjamin, which is one of the tribes Sephardic Jews are thought to be descended from. The bulbous center section features acid-etch designs, and the tapered stem has filigree wire punctuated by turquoise colored paste stones, which ends in more acid-etch designs including “Bezalel Jerusalem” in Hebrew.
